Is Making Trash Worth It?

Trash!

What is trash? Trash are waste that people do not need and throw them away. Trash can be anything, like plastic, food waste or paper, it can be anything! 3.5 tons of trash was made per day in 2018. That’s a lot of trash. Some people have also estimated by 2050, our trash is going to increase by 70%. Have you ever thought what would happen if the Earth is covered in trash? Do you want to save the Earth from trash? If yes, then LET’S DO IT!

What is Zero Waste?

You may have not heard of Zero Waste. But, the first impression when you read the name “Zero Waste”, you might think that “Zero Waste” is making absolutely no trash. Well, you are wrong. Zero Waste means that you are conscious about the trash you make. It’s going to be a bit difficult at first to adapt into the zero waste lifestyle but, it’s going to be easier as you get used to it.

What would happen to Earth if people continue to make trash?

For example, people make trash everyday like plastic. Plastic can’t be recycle so, it will end up in landfills. A plastic bottle lifespan is 450 years. That is a long time to decompose. While in the mean time, it will stay in landfills.

People are not conscious of the trash they make. It’s very simple to be conscious. You just have to stop for a minute and think if this is trash and is there a better way to avoid this trash. Yup, it’s that simple.

It’s going to be hard, but let’s do it!

I live in Malaysia. Living in Malaysia is a bit difficult because not a lot of people are adapted to Zero Waste. People still use plastic and other stuff. I went to the internet and I found a few zero waste shop. There is a also a zero waste campaign. After all, Malaysia isn’t that bad.  πŸ˜ πŸ˜

NUDE The Zero Waste Store is one of the store I found. There are lots of comment on their Facebook Page saying that it’s a educational place to bring kids. And, it’s a place where you bring your container and refill household items and toiletries. The price is also very affordable. This is obviously a good start for Malaysians. πŸ™‚

Challenge

Have you ever saw videos on YouTube where they do a zero waste challenge? Have you ever thought of trying it?

Well if yes then, instead of a week or a day, try a month. And slowly, you will get adapted to it. πŸ™‚
